Terms of service

The general terms and conditions for therapy with Path Within Therapy — how sessions, fees, cancellations, and confidentiality work.

Last updated 21 July 2026 · Version 2.1

1Who runs the practice

Path Within Therapy is a therapy practice run by Dimitar (Mitko) Lambov, providing individual and couples therapy to adults, in person and online.

Path Within Therapy is registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under KvK number 97269239, and is a registered healthcare provider under the Dutch Quality, Complaints and Disputes in Healthcare Act (Wkkgz).

2When therapy begins

Therapy officially begins once a follow-up session is scheduled after your initial consultation. At that point a treatment agreement is in place. This means:

  • A working relationship is established for a period of time
  • The focus is on your goals, which may evolve along the way

3How therapy can end

The agreement can end at any time, in any of the following ways:

  • You and your therapist agree that further sessions are not needed
  • You give notice, by email, telephone, or in person, that you want to stop
  • Your therapist gives notice that sessions will not continue
  • Session agreements or these terms are not observed
  • Your therapist considers your needs to fall outside the scope of this practice, and that you would benefit from a different kind of support

If more than three months pass without a session being booked, the agreement ends automatically, unless otherwise agreed. If you have unused sessions from a package at that point, you will be contacted beforehand and given the opportunity to use them.

4Fees and payment

Standard fees:

  • Individual session: €105 (55 minutes)
  • Individual session package: 4 sessions for €355
  • Couples session: €170 (75 minutes)

All prices include 21% VAT.

An invoice follows each session. For session packages, the invoice for the full package is sent after the first session of that package. Payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date, by bank transfer or payment link.

If a session package is not completed, unused sessions can be refunded on request, in proportion to the number of sessions not used.

Unused sessions remain available for as long as the agreement is in place, and you will be contacted before the agreement ends if any are still outstanding.

5Cancellation policy

Sessions can be cancelled or rescheduled free of charge up to 24 hours beforehand.

Cancellation within 24 hours due to unforeseen circumstances (force majeure) is charged at half the session fee.

Late cancellation without explanation, or non-attendance, is charged at the full session fee.

6Session notes and records

A confidential digital file is kept for each client, stored securely via Zanda, containing session notes and relevant documents. You can ask to see your file at any time.

Clinical records are kept for 20 years from the date information was last added to the file — in practice, from the end of your therapy. This is the standard Dutch law sets for healthcare records.

Invoices and payment records are kept separately, for the period Dutch tax law requires.

7Confidentiality

Everything you share in therapy is confidential.

Confidentiality covers more than what is said in session. It also covers administrative and financial information about you, and the fact that you are a client of this practice at all. If someone contacts the practice asking whether you are a client, this will be neither confirmed nor denied.

A small number of service providers handle limited parts of your information on behalf of the practice, so that it can function. Each works under a written agreement, may act only on the practice’s instructions, may not use your information for its own purposes, and is bound in writing to confidentiality:

  • Zanda, the secure system in which client records are kept
  • The practice’s bookkeeper, who sees invoices — your name, address, and the amount — in order to maintain the financial administration and tax records the practice is legally required to keep. The bookkeeper has no access to clinical records, session notes, or appointment history.

These arrangements are not the same as sharing your information with a third party. If anyone approaches either of them for information about you, they must refuse to confirm or deny anything and refer the request to the practice.

Beyond this, information is shared only:

  • With your explicit written consent — for example with your GP, another therapist, or an insurer. You will be told what information is involved and who will receive it before you decide, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Where the law requires it, or where there is a serious risk of harm to you or to someone else. In that situation you will be told beforehand what is being shared and with whom. If that is not possible, you will be told as soon as possible afterwards.

The duty of confidentiality does not end when your therapy does. It continues indefinitely.

Full details of how your information is handled are set out in the Privacy Policy.

8Couples and relationship therapy

In couples therapy both partners are clients, and the therapy belongs to both of you.

Secrets are not kept between partners. If something is disclosed individually — before sessions begin, in a message, or in an individual session — it may need to be brought into the shared work. This will always be discussed with you first, but information that affects the therapy cannot be held indefinitely.

Records for couples therapy concern both partners. If one partner asks to see the file or requests a copy, the privacy of the other partner must also be protected, which means it may not be possible to share everything.

If you later separate, or if one partner requests a report or a letter, nothing concerning you as a couple will be provided without both partners agreeing.

9Written reports

If a written summary or report is requested, whether by you or by another provider, the time taken to prepare it is charged at the standard hourly rate, up to a maximum of two hours.

10Complaints

If something does not feel right, please raise it directly with your therapist first. Honest feedback is welcome, and the aim is always to resolve things with care and respect.

If you would rather not raise it directly, or the matter cannot be resolved that way, an independent complaints procedure is available. As a registered healthcare provider under the Wkkgz, Path Within Therapy is affiliated with Zorg voor ZZP, which provides an independent complaints officer and access to a recognised disputes body.

The complaints officer is free of charge, and can advise you, help you formulate a complaint, and mediate. If a complaint cannot be resolved that way, it can be brought before the disputes body, whose decision is binding on both parties.

For complaints specifically about how your personal data has been handled, you can also contact the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl

11In-person sessions and shared space

In-person sessions take place at Het Coachhuis, a shared professional environment.

  • Please treat the space and the people in it with care and respect
  • Smoking, alcohol, and substance use are not permitted
  • Damage caused to the property may be charged to the person responsible
  • Harassment or abuse of any kind will result in termination of the agreement, and may be reported to the police

12Liability

Path Within Therapy is not liable for adverse consequences arising because incorrect or incomplete information has been provided, or because information known to the client, or held in the records of a doctor, specialist, or other healthcare provider, has not been shared.

13These terms and the Privacy Policy

By starting therapy, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms of Service and to the Privacy Policy.

Both documents are available at www.pathwithintherapy.com, and may be updated from time to time. The current version is always the one published on the website, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
